As a member of the Fabric-olics Yahoo Group, I signed up for this fun Fabric Book Round Robin exchange in 2006. The owner of the group, Sammy Stafney sent out the following call: "Pick a theme! Post when you send a book on and when you receive a book! This is a MUST DO! Somewhere on your covers or on a separate fabric page have your name and address AND EVERYONE'S NAME, ADDRESS IN THEIR MAILING ORDER OF YOUR BOOK!"

January 2, 2007: My own fabric book returned home to me in December!! many thanks to ALL who participated and shared a bit of their fabric art with me. As soon as I make time to bind all of the pages together I will share them here with you!

MAGGIE'S BOOK: "In my Garden" is the theme of Maggie Hannigan's  Fabric Book, and this is the LAST book I worked on for our Fabric-olics RR exchange! My book will be coming home soon, and after I receive it I will share with you what was added, right here on this page. In the meantime, let's take a look at Maggie's wonderful book. I sent it home to her on November 27th, 2006! ~ Lenna

ROSALIE'S BOOK: Rosalie McMenamin's RR book is called Shades of Green, and I just loved working in this book! Rosalie made a really interesting wrap around cover that tied in the middle of the front of her cover. She included some awesome images and even made a doll for one of her pages. I also liked the sheer fabric she sewed over some of her images. Chris & Sandi did a wonderful job as well with their pages; there are so many wonderful ideas here! I sent this book to Maggie on October 31st - global Priority, so it should reach her in 4-6 days. I'll start by showing a close-up of the front and back of the page I created.  The fabric collage images on my fabric page are from Alpha Stamps, just yummy! I'll follow with work from Rosalie McMenamin, her cover & pages, plus Chris Dickinson and Sandi Bjorkman's pages. Enjoy!!

CHRIS' BOOK: I received Chris Dickinson's Fabric Book for this RR when I returned home from Canada, at the end of August. Chris had started her book by creating a cover (front & back) and a first page, and then Sandi had added a page as well before the book reached me. Chris' theme is: "Inside the Garden Gate". I made a page related to MY garden (more leafy than flowery!) and then sent Chris' Book to Maggie in Canada by the end of September. Below are photos of the page I added, and the pages Chris and Sandi created:

SANDI'S BOOK: Sandi Bjorkman's book with a Japan theme was the first Fabric Book I received to work in for this RR exchange. I brought Sandi's fabric book with me when visiting Wolfe Island, Canada (August 2006) as I thought I would love to spend some time working in Sandi's book while I was there. I could also easily send this book to my mailing partner Maggie Hannigan (who lives in Ontario, Canada) when I was done - yay! But before I left on vacation, I emailed a student of mine who is now living in Japan and asked her for help with the Japan theme - something I was not well-versed in. Barbara-Jean so kindly sent me some photos she had taken while living in Japan and clued me in on some of the culture's more popular themes. THANK YOU, Barbara-Jean! Here's Sandi's Book:

LENNA'S BOOK: Sammy gave me the idea to try a different shape for my RR book, and here it is! I decided to go for a "Lake" shape. My husband Steven helped me to draw the basic shape of Secret Lake (the lake near our home), and then I made a template out of cardstock for everyone to work with so they could make a matching page for my book.

Here's my own Book -- the theme is WATER . . . .  below is my front cover (L) and inside cover (R). The inside cover has a gel medium image transfer of the lake near our new home and also a pocket for the rules of the RR, addresses & sign-in tags.

I've asked the participants in my group to use the template I made to create a page or two and add it loosely to the book. I'll bind all the pages when the book returns home to me in December! I'll also share some of the work I do in the other books in our group here. Stay tuned!  Creatively Yours, Lenna
