::: Steven Deming and Lenna Andrews were married on June 11, 2005 ::: 

It was Steven's request that Lenna keep her maiden name when they were married. Steven was  introduced to 'Lenna Andrews' when they first met as teenagers  in 1972, and her name always stayed with him. This year they are looking forward to celebrating their 3rd Wedding Anniversary!  Wedding photos &  the story of how they became a couple are below. Was it a long courtship? Steven and I sat down and wrote this story together for our wedding program . . . . .  

The Story of Steven Deming and Lenna Andrews

Back in 1972, when Steven was 16 years old, he had two close friends, Garth and John. Lenna was Garth's girlfriend back then, but Steven had a crush on her (and she never knew this). Garth and Lenna's time together was brief. A few years later Lenna started seeing John, and they got married in 1978.  John, Lenna, Garth, and Steven all shared a house together in Farmington, CT for a year, in 1980 (Steven still had a crush on her, and Lenna still didn't know this!). Soon after that, John and Lenna bought his father's house, moved, and they started their own family.

Meanwhile, in 1984, Steven married Nancy, his wife of 15 years. Steven and Garth used to stop by John and Lenna's and saw their kids, Decklin and Dallas growing up, but eventually they lost touch with them other than a few meetings here and there. Steven and Nancy divorced in 1999.

Fast forward to 2004. The bad news is that things did not work out for Lenna and John. They became separated after 26 years with plans for divorce. Around the same time, Lenna found out through Garth that Steven was divorced, which she did not know. On October 25th, 2004, Lenna called Steven at work. She had visited him there four or five years earlier and thought he was probably still working at the same place.

 Steven was certainly unprepared for a call from Lenna out of the blue with the news that John had left her and they were divorcing, but he leapt at the opportunity to reconnect with Lenna. They started emailing back and forth and got together to walk their dogs and just to talk, and to go to NY to visit Garth and his wife Nora. In just three weeks, with *ONLY* three hundred emails and lots of phone calls between them, Steve & Lenna realized that they were in love! Although some people understandably questioned this at first, Steven and Lenna knew in their hearts that they were meant to be together. The moon was out a lot then and they found themselves thanking their lucky stars that they had found each other again. Hence our theme! Thank you for being here today to celebrate with us.

  P.S. Steven still has a crush on Lenna  . . . . . . .

In December of 2004, Garth found this photo in a drawer and sent it to Steven & Lenna. The photo was taken in May 1980, when we all lived together in a house in Farmington.

Garth gave the photo an interesting title before he sent it:
