Gelli Printing is very versatile and so much fun to do! Start with blank piece of paper, a previously gel printed paper, or a printed paper background. Brayer a small amount of paint onto the gelli plate. Place stencils or make texture marks with found objects and press your paper onto the gel plate. Pull the paper off of the plate! Note that using different types of papers to print on will change your results in interesting ways. Using nature items like leaves, flowers and grasses with a Gelli plate is a favorite way of mine to print. The prints below were created in a class taught by JoAnn Campisi held at Selby Gardens. Gelli Plates can be purchased at Gelli Arts.com and find their large collection of how-to videos on YouTube.
