This is what I came up with . . . please click on the scan for a larger picture.
This collage is what I would call one of my "worked on" pieces. Somewhat messy, very busy, very layered - but pleasing to me! It is about 10" x 10" but it actually started out as a much smaller portion -- the piece on the right with the two women's faces. I felt I wanted to do more, so I expanded it. I laid that small section I had done onto a piece of water color paper I had painted 2 years ago for a background and saved (the green & purple you see peeking through).
The 2 women & the Eiffel Tower, the telegram on the bottom left, the transparency of the menu in French in the middle, the words cut out (paper & transparency), and the perfume label can all be found at ARTchix Studio.
I added rubber stamping on a postal theme using StazOn inks (permanent) as this turned into a "love letters" from Paris collage. I added white pearl Jacquard paint - which I sponged & stenciled on with a doily (and then added a real doily). Old postage stamps and real buttons to compliment the ones on the Trip to France collage sheet were also added. I spritzed some walnut ink to age it a bit. The scan cuts off the edges just a bit so you really cannot see the whole thing, but I ran a gold metallic marker around all the edges.
I am not a huge fan of Paris per say, although I have never been there. But I chose to take Helga up on her challenge anyway, because she always makes me stretch and try things I would not be trying if she did not suggest it! I really love the challenges, love flexing my creative muscles and making things. It is not a requirement of Helga's, but I also cannot help but work with some of the many yummy artchix studio goodies that I have on hand when I participate.
Thanks again, Helga!
