Here is another ATC for Lesson 1 in Collage Basics With Vintage Paper: size and composition. I'm not sure if I really like how I accentuated the woman with color and various pens, but I like the idea of placing her on this background so I decided to show you anyway. I used a 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" cut out frame to choose the ATC background, which is actually larger. It was an old postcard my husband found on a Local Bradenton History website; he copied some cool old photos and sent them to me. This new method (for me) of using a frame that my instructor Mary Green got me to try is great because I can better audition which part of something I want to use! Next, I cut out one of the three vintage ladies from the shirtwaist ads that Mary provided in this class and glued her down as if she were surveying the local Bradenton scene. The other day in the drug store I saw an inexpensive tray of eye shadows and bought them with the idea of using them for my art! They worked pretty well - the sky was grey before, not blue!
I enjoy these challenges via mary's lessons!
