Table: A collaboration with steven

The photo (below left) shares a table Steven recently made & how I decorated it with foam block stamps. The stamping was in process when I took the photo and the paint is very wet. I am modeling my stamping after the original stamped table done 15 years ago, shown below right.

We both loved the original table, but our home is smaller now and the living room is especially tiny! We came up with the idea to replace some of the furniture and remove others. Steven offered to make a new table for us that would fit better in our living room. My job would be to stamp it. Steven's beautiful handmade table is below. He made the legs from Cherry that was from my Dad’s collection of wood.

Foam stamps, decorator Glaze and cosmetic sponges were needed for this project. I mixed different colors of glaze directly on the stamps & practiced on a piece of painted scrap wood to get the feel of how much paint I needed. The first stamp on the table is below…

More stamps were added… and then a few more!

I added a few gold spatters as well for good measure.

It took 24 hours to completely dry. Then Steven sanded the legs and prepared to coat the whole table with epoxy. I really like the way he designed the legs with the cherry wood dad gave him.

When the epoxy dried, it was brought into to our living room!

We love it! This new table fits so much better and looks great. Thank you, Steven! xoxo
