Gelli Plate Play - week 16 of The Documented Life Project

The Documented Life Project, Week 16
The April Theme is: Color Safari (Exploring Inks and Paints)

April 18th Art Challenge: Gelli Plate
Journal Prompt: A lot on my plate.

I started with a little Gelli Plate play. I really like using the Gelli Plate, but I have not worked with it enough to feel really comfortable with it yet. So I just set out to play, a trick that works well for me. I used a small 3" x 5" gelli plate and a lovely circle one. After I printed those on a piece of purple paper, I got the idea to mono print a silhouette wild flower stencil on top of the Gelli prints. I am glad I did, I like how it looks. After it dried I added the whole page to my journal.

After I glued my Gelli print & stencil page on the right, I used a foam brush with Magenta Lumiere paint to paint the opposite page. I also painted around the edges of the right side.

Then I thought, "A lot on my plate". . .  hmmm. And that led me to go towards how I handle it, when I feel I have a lot on my plate. I searched for words - a poem or affirmations to place on the cut sections of the left side page. This is what I found . . .

Yes!! Another week done and dusted : ) The current week's prompt was announced yesterday so  I plan to turn my attention to it very soon. I like how my journal is being filled and I enjoy sharing it. It is also quite inspiring to see how others approach the prompts. Glad I joined in!
