We {heart} Mail Art

Asemic writing looks like writing, but contains NO REAL WORDS!!

We {heart} Mail Art is the name we have given to our very small group of Mail Art/mixed media enthusiasts: myself, Julie Welsh and Jo Urbani. As far as I can tell from searching my old blog we started this group exactly 2 years ago with a mail art swap theme of The Language of Flowers. Every month or two, we decide on a theme and look forward to exchanging mail art and a mixed media card with each other. Our recent exchange was a most interesting one with a theme of Asemic Writing! What??? Here is the card I made for Jewels (Julie).

A bit more Asemic Writing on the mail art envelope too.

I created a different card for Jo with a slightly different envelope. I haven't blogged about our exchanges since last September, bad me - I just wasn't blogging very much! So now, I have photos from our "One Staple" collage swap, our Vintage Gluebook style exchange and the Asemic Writing theme. There are too many photos to add to one blog post, so I've created an Animoto Video (a cool slideshow) to share and remember these wonderful exchanges and added it below. My art teacher Bill Buchman once described me as a "documenter" and I do think he's right! If you cannot see the video embedded below, please visit this link

Thank you to Jewels and Jo for all the fun and art we share!! ❤
