For the The Documented Life Project™ ::: The June Theme is Travel Journaling ::: June 20 Art Challenge: Hometown Inspiration ::: Journal Prompt: There is no place like home 🌟
I jumped over week 24 - June 13 Art Challenge: Recording Memories - Taking the Road Less Traveled - and onto week 25 in order to catch up with the prompts for The Documented Life Project. I was tired of being a couple of weeks behind and am glad I jumped! I started with a StencilGirl Stencil -Ripples by Michelle Ward. I wanted something reminiscent of roads or paths in a loose way and this stencil fit the bill. I did not have any spray adhesive so I used painters tape to secure the stencil to my page as best I could because it was so large. Also, because my journal is getting so thick it does not lie flat anymore!
I used spray inks and then spritzed with water and let it drip onto the other page.
I let the ink dry, then used a different stencil, inky hearts by Terri Stegmiller on the right side of the spread with acrylic paint. I sponged it on. I rubber stamped "Home is where your art is" and then journaled about all the homes I've lived in. I have moved even more than this, but these are all the homes I've lived in!
I do have a previously done spread that I feel really fits the week 24 theme/prompt of recording memories . . . I created this spread last October as a way to help remember my trip to Scotland to visit my dear friend and artist Frieda Oxenham a few weeks before. I used photos from the trip and also some journaling to remember. See more about this spread and how I used photos to record my memories here: Peebles in the Scottish Borders.
Thanks for stopping by ❤
