A bit of a detour . . .

A bit of a detour . . .  and hooray, I am back to my blog again. We were away for a long weekend Oct 20-23, visiting family in the Boston area. My two sons & their brides live there, plus our darling granddaughter. Wheee! We had visited in June and had such a lovely time, that soon afterwards we made plans to visit again, this October. What an awesome visit! Our granddaughter is so much bigger and she was a delight to spend time with. Now, a trip to Florida to see us this winter is in the plans. We could not be happier. Some photos from our trip . . .

We went on many, many walks! My son dallas is always good for keeping my step count up! We walked to a playground and to see the HEAD OF THE CHARLES regatta on the Charles River on Saturday . . . perhaps about 7,000 steps. Once a couple of years ago when visiting Dallas, I walked 20,000 steps following him around Boston, ha! The first tree below is right in front of Dallas' house, a ginkgo tree! Plus we got to see all the lovely leaves turning color, a real treat for us. Click on any photo below for a larger photo. You can also scroll through them with the arrows once you do that.

After all that fresh air and a nap (for us too!) we played with Eleanor in her room.

She is such a cute little squish! I took a tiny video . . . .

After a lovely dinner with the whole family, we walked across the street to sleep in the first floor apartment belonging to a generous neighbor of dallas and liz who welcomed us to use it. It was an ideal situation and even pretty at night as we made our way there . . .

So happy for this beautiful time together . . .
