new growth

When we moved to our home on the Braden River in 2012, we re-worked the yard & planted grapevines with help from Ann Hall Designs. It came out really great, we are so pleased. This is the 5th season for our grapevines, planted in 2013 -hard to believe!

The vines need to be cut back when they are dormant, January - February. In March they need to be watered, to encourage new growth. Last year was a very dry spring & I did not know about watering them, especially at that time. The new growth was very delayed. So this year I have been tending to them after learning this. Look . . . I was rewarded!

So exciting! Yes, those are teeny tiny grapes at the top.

I am also tending to climbing jasmine that we planted around the same time. Last year I added another small Jasmine plant to join the first one. They are both blooming now & so fragrant!

When the grapevines fill in and the jasmine grows the Pergola will be covered with leaves. The photo below was taken last July - yikes!!

You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same, nor would you want to.
