Fabric Elements Creative Challenge

Fabric Elements Creative Challenge

Fabric Elements is a line of pre-cut fabrics and coordinating elements designed by Rebekah Meier for Mixed Media Collage. I was excited to learn I could find these products locally, at JoAnn's Fabrics and Crafts. Heart and Soul art journaling

Heart and Soul art journaling

I'm happy to say that I continued to be "called" to work/play in my art journal. At the moment, not having a prompt is not inhibiting me. More often than not, every few days I have this feeling that I want to do something creative and so I make myself go start something in my art journal . . .

Lots of Layers

Lots of Layers

I thought about doing a quick fabric project for my 100 project but soon noticed that working/playing in my art journal was calling to me more. I knew I was not done with trying out my new stencils by Terri Stegmiller! I concentrated on the design I had not played with yet and ended up using it repeatedly, in layers . . . .

Yesterday, I gave myself permission to play with some new stencils and use the results in my art journal. I started out by testing on plain paper.  I grabbed a leftover scrap piece of paper that had spray inks over a stencil. On top of this, I added acrylic paint with a sponge over the new August 'Stencil Club stencils' from StencilGirl designed by Terri Stegmiller. . . . .

ICAD #37: step-by-step

ICAD #37: step-by-step

I took a few photos while making my ICAD (Index card a day) tonight and thought I would share them. The theme this week from daisy yellow was to use a different color palette every day. Walking in fields, walking by Art

Walking in fields, walking by Art

I am returning to my visit with Frieda in Scotland last month. I've added more to my art journal about that glorious week! On the left, Frieda & I were walking in the fields near her house with her dogs. When I showed this page to Steven, he remarked how fitting it was that I chose to add hand drawn stitches around the photo of Frieda. She is very well known as an award winning Art Quilter and stitching is how she often speaks : )

I did not even consciously think about what I was doing, it just came to me as I was journaling...
