Vintage Image Madness 2010 Calendar

Below is a preview of the cover of the Vintage Image Madness 2010 Calendar. I am so honored that owner Casie Metcalf chose my 4x4 collage for the COVER of this year's calendar!!
Casie has had the calendars professionaly printed and they are now available on the Vintage Image Madness Etsy site for $10 a calendar, with 1/2 of the proceeds going to Bernie Berlin's A Place to Bark this year! This is the third year I have participated in this collaborative effort and I am so proud to be a part of it! The calendar measures 4.75 inches by 5.5 inches and comes packaged in a CD calendar case. It comes with 14 total pages - 12 months plus the front & back covers. Each month is a separate page. The case can be turned inside out to form a desktop stand to hold and display the calendar. The calendar has been professionally printed for outstanding color and wonderful reproduction. This calendar would make a lovely gift for yourself or that artful someone in your life and will help Bernie Belin to continue her outstanding animal rescue work. lenna young andrews - December 8th, 2009

Vintage Image Madness Calendar-2010

This is my submission, as requested by Casie Metcalf for the Vintage Image Madness Collaborative 2010 VINTAGE IMAGE CALENDAR! Click on the image to see it in full. This year, Casie will be donating a portion of the sales to Bernie Berlin and A Place to Bark. Casie says, "I am really in awe of the work that Bernie is doing to help dogs (and now cats) and would love to contribute something to the cause this year. Every little bit helps a dog (or cat) in need."

This is my third year contributing to Casie's Calendar : )). You will be able to purchase it on the Vintage Image Madness site soon; I'll let you know when it is ready. The calendar is a collaborative project hosted by Casie Metcalf with Vintage Image Madness images, and is a limited edition printing of 100 calendars. The international artists who participated in 2009 are: January - Lisa Martin, February - Doreen Cosenza, March - Frieda Oxenham, April - Tally Oliveau, May - Cindy McMath, June - Lenna Andrews, July - Lise Kirk, August & Cover - Kim Tedrow, September - Cathy Johnson, October - Megan Hull, November - Janet Heritage, December - Susan Metcalfe. I believe all of these artists are participating again this year!

Casie's site is unique in that you can purchase image sheets and have them sent to you, OR download your images and print them out yourself! That is what i did. Casie has a tremendous amount of images to choose from - have fun looking, and thank you, Casie! It is my pleasure to participate once again. i just love your images!! lenna young andrews, October 24, 2009.

New year, New calendar 2009

I was asked to participate again in Casie Metcalf's Vintage Image Madness collaborative calendar, and I did! Again, this project was completed a while ago (in October!) but I just never got around to mentioning it, until now. Since you may be in need of a new and artful calendar - I thought I would direct you to Casie's site, where you can purchase it for $10.00. Once there, scroll down to read about it and all the wonderful artists I collaborated with again to create this calendar.

To the right is my original artwork, using images from Vintage Image Madness. The beauty of Casie's site is that you can purchase images as you usually would and have them sent to you, OR you can download the images to your own computer for a lesser charge and be able to print them out onto whatever paper or fabric you would like, at any time! It's brilliant!

To the left is my artwork, after it was fashioned into the June 2009 calendar page. Thank you so much, Casie, it looks great! Click on any image for more detail.

Casie limits production of this calendar to 100 copies . . .

2008 Vintage Image Madness calendar submission!

My friend Casie Metcalf who runs the on-line shop Vintage Image Madness is hosting a collaborative project! Earlier this summer when sending out her monthly shop newsletter, Casie wrote:
"I'd like to announce my first collaborative project on the Vintage Image Madness website! I'm very excited about this idea and hope that you will be too. I'd like to design a 2008 desk calendar using vintage images from my site that will be packaged in the blank CD cases.
In order to participate in this project, you will create one (or more if you so desire) piece of artwork sized 4 x 4 inches square. The backs don't need to be decorated but should contain your name and email address. Each piece chosen for the calendar will be featured and the designer will receive a calendar as a thank you for participating. Do not design a page with any specific month in mind. Please mail your finished piece and signed released to me - please email me for my snail mail addy and an emailed copy of the release. Questions? Please email me at mainemadness@gwi.net ."

Casie wrote to me recently and asked me (begged me?!) if I could submit something as she needed a few more pieces to complete the calendar. I had been busy with moving earlier this summer and had not paid attention to her call. This is what I came up with - all of the images were downloaded at a very reasonable price from Vintage Image Madness.

The piece above was done on a card stock 4x4 square with watercolor crayons adding color and a text stamp for interest. The 2nd piece (blue) was a piece of scrap silk that I had painted with dye-na-flow attached with batting to a 4x4 card. The beauty of images you pay for once & download to print whenever you like was really apparent to me on this piece. I splattered too much metallic ink on the faces of the couple. What to do? I ran upstairs and reprinted the image, cut the couple out and laid it over my "mistake" - another creative recovery for me, thanks to the re-printable nature of these sheets! thanks Casie, I had fun and I hope to see one of these on your 2008 calendar!!!
