Little Things

It’s January and a brand new year has arrived. I’ve been slowly moving more into creative activities after a bit of a break. Sometimes you just need to pause! I’m getting much better as I get older about listening to my body, trying not to do everything, and resting when I need to. I am grateful for that!

One fun, creative thing I did a few days ago was to pull the leaves off the herbs I had dried on a tray (from our small garden) and then saved them to use for cooking in a few recycled jars and containers.

I did a little stamping for labels with my trusty alphabet set, some handwriting and a bit of doodling. I was so pleased with how these came out that we now leave them out on our counter within easy reach!

I also did another page spread in my small art journal, following prompts, thoughts and a video from Kasia Avery of Everything ART UK. The project officially ended in December, but Kasia graciously let us continue to access the materials and keep working! The focus this time was to write a positive note to yourself….

Little things I accomplished recently which made me feel good and I certainly enjoyed doing! I look forward to doing more of this in 2022. I have signed up for Liz Kettle’s Patreon page and know this will be helpful to me for inspiration and also a Community that’s involved in Textile Arts and stitching. And, I have signed up for the Wanderlust Online classes through Everything Art UK. This runs for all of 2022 -oh my! Well, I am determined to keep on being creative and enjoying all that I can do! I wish the SAME for you! ❤ lenna

In order to create, we draw from our inner well. This inner well, an artistic reservoir, is ideally like a well-stocked fish pond… If we don’t give some attention to upkeep, our well is apt to become depleted, stagnant, or blocked…As artists, we must learn to be self-nourishing. We must become alert enough to consciously replenish our creative resources as we draw on them — to restock the trout pond, so to speak.
