Altered Books: re-purpose an old book with your art!

Anything goes. Let a discarded book be the platform for you to experiment with & express yourself. Create on your own, similar to Art Journaling, or exchange books with a friend and explore this different surface together. I have done both and found it an amazing experience. Some of my Altered Book pages are below. First up, a few recent pages I completed in 2019.

Next, here are a few recent Altered Book Pages I did circa 2016 & 2017 in two workshops I participated in at Daisy Yellow Art.com -- “Groovy Grunge” & “Novel Approach” . . . both were so helpful & full of great ideas and inspiration. Lastly, an archive of older Altered Book pages I have done

My very first Altered Book page was done in the year 2000 -almost 20 years ago!!! It was an altered 1924 Dictionary that I contributed to. Many of the books below were done via Altered Book Exchanges that were hosted & organized by one of the participants. A theme was set & everyone’s books were sent around in Round Robin fashion. Many of my photos from the earlier exchanges I did are quite small in digital size, but they still present well here in a gallery.
