A Gelli Print day!

yes, it was a gelli day!

I had a lot of fun playing with my new Gelli Plate. I got out some old and new stencils, a variety of sequin waste, a few masks, some lace and a combing tool. I used a variety of acrylic paints and I watched the videos from Julie Fei-Fan Balzer's getting started with the Gelli plate class first, so I would be armed with ideas when I started! It worked out well. A very good first foray into monoprinting with the Gelli plate : )

I made many prints and took many photos, so I decided the best way to share it all was to make a short animoto video from my pictures. Follow this Link to view, or click on the video below if you are reading on the blog!

The artist knows he must be alone to create; the writer, to work out his thoughts; the musician, to compose; the saint, to pray. But women need solitude in order to find again the true essence of themselves.
