Sketchbook Project 2021

Since I last wrote, I started working on the Sketchbook Project 2021. This is the 8th time I have participated in this project since 2011, and it’s very cool. To join, go to the Sketchbook Project website, sign up for a small fee, receive a blank sketchbook in the mail, pick a theme, and you are off & running! Fill up your Sketchbook, send it back by the deadline and your sketchbook will join at least 50,000 others! The Sketchbooks go on tour (if applicable) and then they’ll reside permanently, in the Brooklyn Art Library. This library is open to the public and anyone who visits can check out your Sketchbook (or any other sketchbook) to view!

If you would like to see what I have done so far in my 2021 Sketchbook, just visit my Home Page!

Near the top you’ll see “Recent Additions”. Anything new that I’ve added to the site recently will be there. Click on the photo of what you are interested in seeing more of -and this will bring you right to the new page, or newly added artwork.

I like participating in the Sketchbook Project because it always challenges me. It’s so lovely to be part of a bigger art challenge. I have almost always used the idea that you could change the pages . . . “Your book must remain within the dimensions of 5 x 7” inches. It can open up to something wonderful (of any size), but it must fold down to the original dimensions. You are welcome to unbind, rebind or alter the book in (almost) any other way. If you want to use a thicker stock of paper, go for it! Your book must stay thinner than an inch when closed.” —You can check out all of my Sketchbook Projects HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

creatively yours, Lenna
