This quilt was made for my daughter Maeve. It’s a ‘strip quilt’ created from strips of fabric, 2.5” x 42” in length. 40 strips were sewn together end to end & then lengthwise to each other to create a 64”x 54” quilt (see below). My previous quilts were constructed with fabric squares… so a strip quilt was something new & different. This one was quilted ‘freestyle’ with the layers of the quilt stitched together in an improvisational way. A quick project & fun to make, Maeve was so pleased to receive it for her 40th birthday!
