When Linda created this collage for us, for our wedding in 2005, I do not think she expected me (and her collage) to move twice! In each home Steven & I have lived in since we were married (three!) I have displayed the moon & star collage that Linda created for us, that you see above right. Her design and the messages she used are continually appealing to me.
The words on her canvas for us read, "while reaching for the moon, she found her lucky star". This is an extreamly apt description, and if you don't know the story of Steven & I - I have it copied from our wedding program, here on my website.
In the collage there is a photo of me on the bottom right and a small photo of Steven on the star Linda fashioned out of text. The contrasting blue background is just so perfect. On the back of the canvas Linda added a bit of writing that I never forget - or if I do, I go and look at it again:
"Lenna's Lucky Star"
for Lenna & Steve . . .
What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel they are joined together to strengthen each other in all labour, to minister to each other in sorrow, to share with each other in gladness, to be one with each other in the silent unspoken memories.
May 2005, Canvas collage by Linda Kunsman
~ This canvas was part of a swap, an extra canvas as a special gift for Steven & I when we married. The photo of all of the canvases (in the 'part of the swap' link) was taken in our first home together in East Granby!
Thank you again, Linda!! You have spoken from your heart.
