The PINK Journal: Recycling an 1879 book on Etiquette

To create this journal I used a cutting tool to carefully remove the spine and pages of the book, leaving the front and back cover intact along with a stack of pages. I saved a number of the old pages to add back into the book and the others were saved for collage. I cut other papers the same size as the book pages for the journal; watercolor paper, scrapbook, magazine pages & plain cardstock. Holes were punched for the rings on each page and some reinforcements were added later as the book pages are somewhat fragile. The beauty of the ring bound journal is you can remove the pages to work on them flat!

I started this art journal for the free online course "Care December" offered annually by Everything Art UK and then continued to add pages until I felt it was done.
